I had a manager who could never make a decision:
- âSo, what do you think?â I'd say. âI'll get back to you,â he'd respond.
- âIs that OK?â I'd ask. âI'll let you know,â he'd say.
- âHow about it?â I'd inquire. âLet me think about it,â he'd reply.
After each exchange, he'd scuttle off to his managers office, chat them up, get their opinion, and then â" and only then â" could he deliver a decision.
Listen, I understand the value in getting another point of view, but often these were simple, even mundane decisions like, âGreg and I would like to trade lunch hours today. Okay with you?â Scuttle, chat, question, âI guess it's Okay.â
Maddening to be sure. Â But at least I got a good cartoon out of it.
